Wrong About Stevia

I’m going to slightly change my opinion in this post because I discovered Stevia only tastes weird in certain foods.  When I tried it in Seltzer it was kinda putrid tasting, but I thought I would give it another try yesterday and I put it in some Tea with Lemon and you know what…it tasted really good.

It was sweet, there was no hideous aftertaste, and it was 0 Calorie.  I think I’m going to have to experiment with other foods.  So far just found it good in tea, but that’s a pretty nice find.  I think it has something to do with hot liquid or heating the stevia…but I’m not sure.  I’m going to try and bake with it because I really liked it in Tea.

For now the jury on the taste of Stevia is still out.  I’m going to try it in a bunch of different foods and I think I’ll just keep updating this post with foods stevia works with.


Foods I’ve tried Stevia With (Updated: Jan. 18th):

Tea – Really Good
Oatmeal – Very Good
Coffee – Very Good
Baking, oatmeal muffins – Horrid, not sure I think I did something wrong with it…will try again.

Okay this list is going to keep growing, but so far I’m holding out hope that Stevia might be a good solution for those nights when I didn’t eat right, I’m starving, and need something like a cup of tea to settle my stomach down.
