“You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take” – Wayne Gretzky
Can a quote really make all that big of a difference? Not on it’s own. Most of us see a quote, it might stir a temporary thought, and then the phone rings and we forget about it. We see a quote and we ponder it for a bit, until we realize we’re late for work, and we forgot to bring the garbage out. Inspirational quotes only gain power when you read it, believe, read it again and again. Put that quote up on your bathroom mirror or on the refrigerator door and suddenly it can’t be ignored.
I’m not one of those people that drop motivational or inspirational quotes for every situation. Hell no, I don’t like those people, and their unsolicited quote is usually never appropriate to the mood you’re in, but Inspirational Quotes can be very powerful if you let it become powerful. Take that Wayne Gretzky quote, I’m not a hockey fan, never was, but even a non-fan like myself knows about Wayne Gretzky. That quote spoke to me. I’ve missed so many opportunities in life, I don’t dwell on them because there’s nothing I can do about the past, but I can change things in the future by taking those shots, even if they fail, they’ll definitely fail if I don’t take them.
Google, find a quote that speaks to you, put it on the refrigerator, and the next time you’re going there to break your diet to hell and back, drink a glass of water, read the quote a few times, think about the quote, and you might just find that you have gotten that little inspiration to refrain from going backwards on your goals.
