I may not be a bodybuilder, but you can learn a lot using elements of bodybuilding. If I had to say one thing that I learned from bodybuilders is how important protein is and how whey protein gets you there. Every night I prepare some Oatmeal laced with whey protein and have that for breakfast. It’s easy, gives me some complex carbs, a lot of protein, and I don’t know if I’ve just adapted myself to this style of eating, but I really enjoy it.
1/2 cup oatmeal (not the instant stuff)
1 banana or 1 scoop peanut butter (I use either or just to add some mushy quality to the mixture…I suppose you could use both if you have the calories for it).
2 Scoops of Jarrow Unflavored Whey. (A lot of whey contains junk I don’t want, Jarrow is whey, plain and simple).
A splash of almond milk just so it’s moist enough to mix (just drop some in, mix, repeat, until you get it to a consistency you like)
Raisins (optional but I add them because I like them)
I always make this ahead of time, put it in tupperware, and then have it when I first wake up. I just like having my breakfast ready for me. I eat it cold and with uncooked oatmeal. I suppose you could cook it or heat it up, but I’m just telling you the way I like to eat it. It’s around 42 grams of protein. The carbs from the oatmeal is complex, so it doesn’t leave you quickly, and it’s just simple. You don’t need to be a chef to prepare a cheap and easy breakfast.
